What are the technologies & resources available at CWU?

	Learning Management System = Canvas -The learning management system at CWU. All courses (online, hybrid and face-to-face) have a corresponding Canvas course. Practicum, internship and research courses are created by request.
	Web Conferencing in Canvas can be done using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Blackboard Ultra (will be retired Spring 2023), Conferences, or Web Ex. These programs allow you to virtually interact and engage with online learners and other participants.
	Lecture capture = Panopto - Campus-wide lecture capture system. Used to record voice-over lectures and screen-capture videos that can be posted within Canvas courses.
	Video uploads = My Media & Media Gallery (aka Kaltura) - My Media and Media Gallery, by Kaltura Educational Software, is the streaming media service used for uploading and using media created outside of Panopto. For example, device video recordings, field recordings, video files from dvd, etc.
	The CWU Accessibility & Disability Resources module contains guides on how to create accessible documents, links to the Disability Services pages and faculty resources and the recommended CWU accessibility statement that should be added to every syllabus. Accessibility checker = Bb Ally - Accessibility resource that allows student to download alternative formats of Word, PDF and PPTX documents uploaded to Canvas. Additionally, provides faculty with guidelines and tips for making content more accessible.
	Plagiarism detection = Turnitin - Turnitin assignments within Canvas will be checked against online resources, academic journals and the institutional repository for plagiarism detection. Faculty can customize the Turnitin settings and utilize either the Turnitin Plagiarism Framework or the Turnitin External Tool.
	Online test proctoring = LockDown Browser / Respondus Monitor - Secure browser used for online tests that prevents students from opening up multiple windows during an exam. The LockDown Browser has to be downloaded by the student before beginning the exam. Respondus Monitor offers a video proctoring option, so students can be recorded by webcam while taking online tests.
	Poll Everywhere- Poll Everywhere is an audience response system which allows students to respond to polls and activities both synchronously and asynchronously. The tool is integrated with Canvas so that grades and activities can be synched with the Canvas grade book.
	Sharing Canvas content = Canvas Commons- Canvas Commons is a learning object repository that enables instructors to find, import, and share resources. A digital library full of educational content, Commons allows Canvas users to share learning resources with other users, as well as import learning resources into a Canvas course.
